The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is making the most of the to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
